Easy French Crepes
Here is an easy way to make delicious crepes. It's not as hard as you might think!
Ingredients
- Butter 2 tablespoons, plus more for cooking the crepes - Milk 2 cups (16 fl oz/500 ml) - Large eggs 2 - All-purpose flour 1-1/2 cups (7-1/2 oz/235 g) - Granulated sugar 1 tablespoon - Baking powder 1/2 teaspoon - Salt 1/2 teaspoon - Powdered sugar for dusting |
Popular Fillings
Nutella, jam, strawberries and whipped cream, fresh fruit |
Steps
1. Put the 2 tablespoons butter in a small microwave-safe bowl or cup, microwave on high until melted, about 20 seconds
2. Pour the milk into a blender. Add the eggs and melted butter. Add the flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt, and blend for a short time just to mix. Blend until smooth.
3. Place a 10-inch (25 cm) crepe pan or a nonstick frying pan over medium-high heat. When the pan is hot, spread a small amount of butter over the pan bottom with a spatula. Pour in about 1/3 cup (3 fl oz/80 ml) of the crepe batter all at once. Immediately tilt the pan in a circular motion to make sure the batter covers the bottom of the pan evenly. Cook the crepe until the bottom is lightly browned, which will take about 2 minutes. Use the spatula to scoop under the center of the crepe and flip it over. While the second side is cooking, scoop some of your favorite filling into the center of the crepe. When the second side is finished cooking, place the crepe onto a plate, with the filling side up. Spread the filling evenly around the crepe, and fold it into quarters.
4. Sprinkle the crepe with powdered sugar. Serve warm.
